Government Agency 1

An initial meeting with management had established the requirement to review the agency's procurement policy and systems to extract efficiencies in their annual spend, which was approaching £300 million.
SM-J introduced a seasoned procurement professional with a track record of investigating and recommending improvements to procurement activities.
Our consultant worked at all levels in the organisation. He reviewed current practice and highlighted opportunities for efficiency savings through the centralisation of purchasing, training the staff in the new procedures.

Government Agency 2

A critical review of systems and procedures by accountants had led to the resignation at short notice of the Financial Controller. The CEO was in urgent need of a competent hands on accountant to maintain control of the financial department and manage the impending year end audit.
Our highly experienced interim controller was able to stabilise the department, manage the year end, and introduce stronger financial management procedures and controls.
A new Finance Director was engaged, inheriting a well run function and benefitting from a detailed handover which highlighted areas of concern for him to prioritise in the early months of his appointment.
